I really wanted these bloomers to work for me, but they just didn’t. I ordered the medium which felt fantastic on my stomach and pubic bone but it was too tight on my groin and leg. I am a size 10-12 currently, but I have wide hips, curvy legs and a very small waist. I sided up to a large and although it feels better on my legs and groin, it isn’t a seamless fit and it does not feel as supportive on my bell and pubic bone. I do have nerve damage in my left leg from my previous pregnancy so I am extremely sensitive to anything “digging” into my leg. I wore the French cut cheekie last PP and my normal underwear is a thong, French, high cut or seamless fit for comfort. I agree with other reviewers that the liner is not enough, it does not cover high enough and I don’t want to add a panty liner; I live in the south, with summer time I do not need any extra layers in my panties. These bloomers are probably a lifesaver for some women, just sadly not me.
These bloomers are worth every penny—part “belly band,” part undies, part HUG for your mid-section during pregnancy, they are my favorite and I wish I had more than one pair! (I settle for hand-washing these after every use and then I get to wear them a few times per week, at least!) I also have the “Cheeky” ones for postpartum, which I use already during pregnancy, and those are also nice and supportive. The difference is mainly in terms of coverage: the bloomers are higher and cover more on all sides, while the Cheeky are more like traditional underwear. The material is soft and lightweight, even with the compressive qualities, making them comfortable even for wearing in the summer months. If I could I’d order at least two more pairs! For reference, I am 34 weeks pregnant and starting wearing these around 32 weeks. My pre-pregnancy size is S (size 4 in jeans) and the S bloomers work great.
I originally bought these at 20+ weeks pregnant because I had vulvar vascularities. They immediately helped that situation from getting me up and moving more without pain and took the swelling down. I continued to wear these through pregnancy as they offered great support as I grew.
I’m now three weeks post partum recovering from an emergency csection. These have been so helpful during this recovery process that I ended up buying multiple more pairs in smaller sizes to help support my scar and core.
I give them four stars because I do wish their sizing offered even further smaller sizes to help with more compression of my core as my uterus shrinks.
These are the supportive recovery or pregnancy bloomers you need. They are not tight whatsoever but they do give a nice hugging feeling. I was so worried they would be restrictive like all other postpartum products but no, these are gold. Absolutely worth the money and I can’t wait to wear them postpartum!
I absolutely love Bao Bei!!
